Carbon Farm Plan Coordinator

Carbon Farm Plan Coordinator New York Fibershed is seeking a Carbon Farm Plan Coordinator dedicated to the successful planning, design, and implementation of conservation projects on small to mid‑scale NYS farms that we partner with for yarn and textile development through our partner projects with New York Textile Lab and the Carbon Farm Network. This is a two‑year full‑time position with statewide travel required. Anticipated start date is the first week of June 2026. Key Responsibilities Producer Outreach & Enrollment Conduct outreach to farmers and identify eligible participants Coordinate with partners to enroll selected producers Ensure producers remain eligible and compliant throughout the project Support at least 15 producers in enrolling in NRCS conservation practices Complete required NRCS documentation, environmental reviews, and verifications Funding & Resource Support Identify and pursue additional grant opportunities to expand the program Help producers access funding, cost‑share programs, and incentive payments Technical Assistance Conduct on‑farm visits to support enrollment, verification, and compliance Collect field data and develop at least 4 Carbon Farm Plans (CFPs) per year Support producers in implementing Climate‑Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices Recommend and document incentive payments for practice adoption Provide data to support project funding and incentive decisions Enroll at least 15 wool producers, representing 1,900 acres and 1,500 head of sheep Measurement, Monitoring & Verification (MMRV) Quantify greenhouse gas (GHG) impacts using tools such as COMET‑Planner and COMET‑Farm Verify adoption of CSA practices and track outcomes Reporting & Data Management Prepare quarterly reports on project outcomes (acres, practices, GHG impact, productivity) Maintain detailed farm and field‑level records for USDA reporting, including: Farm profiles, production data, and participation details Field‑level practices, yields, and management systems GHG benefits and monitoring methods Technical assistance, incentives, and funding received Outreach & Events Support and participate in events such as the Carbon Farm Tour, Sheep & Wool Festival, and GrowNYC Flock Qualifications Education & Experience B.S., B.A., and/or M.S. in environmental planning, natural/applied sciences, or a related field (e.g., soil science, agronomy, ecology, animal science), or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of experience in natural resources, conservation, or related fields
• 3+ years of on‑farm conservation planning experience (NRCS certification preferred)

Experience working with farmers, land managers, or agricultural producers Technical Skills & Knowledge Familiarity with conservation planning, regenerative land planning, or NRCS programs Experience with GIS, data management, and standard office tools (Microsoft Office, Google Suite) Knowledge of New York State ecosystems, agriculture, or working landscapes is a plus Experience with grants, contracts, or funding programs preferred Core Competencies Strong analytical, research, and writing skills Ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences, especially producers Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines Self‑directed, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively Strong relationship‑building and partnership development skills Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving abilities Additional Requirements Willingness to travel statewide and work occasional evenings/weekends Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Experience with project implementation or construction processes #J-18808-Ljbffr tendersglobal
