Job Title: Assembler I / II – Medical Device Manufacturing (2nd Shift)

Job Description

The Assembler I / II role works under direct supervision to assemble and test medical devices using a variety of tools, fixtures, work instructions, and test equipment. You will work primarily in a cleanroom environment, handling small components and using a microscope for most of your shift to help produce devices that support critical patient care.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed written assembly instructions, processes, and procedures to correctly assemble and test medical devices.
• Use microscopes, hand tools, and measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to perform precise, high-volume small part assembly.
• Comply with all policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements in accordance with the Quality System.
• Report issues related to product quality, processes, equipment, or materials to the appropriate engineering or supervisory personnel.
• Perform visual inspection of small parts and raw materials, including catheters and related components, to ensure they meet specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support efficient manufacturing operations, especially within the cleanroom environment.
• Participate in reading and learning standard operating procedures (SOPs) and apply them consistently in daily work.
• Shadow trainers and follow guidance during initial training to learn correct techniques and quality standards.
• Provide hands-on job function training to coworkers as needed once proficient in assigned tasks.
• Work effectively in close workstations alongside other assemblers in a high-volume production setting.
• Support production needs by working required overtime during weekdays and Saturdays when needed.
• Perform other related assembly and production duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 6 months of high-volume small part assembly experience using a microscope.
• Ability to work with a microscope for approximately 90% of the shift.
• Demonstrated ability to handle very small parts and perform fine, detailed work with consistent accuracy.
• Strong communication skills to follow instructions, ask clarifying questions, and report issues promptly.
• Comfort working 100% of the time in a cleanroom environment and following cleanroom protocols.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Availability to work 2nd shift and to work overtime during weekdays and Saturdays when required.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Reliability and stable work history suitable for a long-term contract assignment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1 to 2+ years of medical device assembly experience, ideally in a cleanroom environment (strongly preferred for Assembler II).
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience using a microscope for Assembler I level consideration.
• Previous experience with medical device assembly, especially catheters or similar small components.
• Experience using hand tools and measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers in a production setting.
• Experience in mechanical or electrical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior cleanroom experience, including understanding of gowning, contamination control, and cleanliness requirements.
• Entry-level candidates may be considered if they have a clear understanding of cleanroom expectations and strong interest in precision assembly.
• Ability to train coworkers once proficient and contribute positively to a team-oriented production environment.

Work Environment

This is a 2nd shift position with a typical start time of either 3:30 p.m. or 3:45 p.m., working 8-hour shifts plus any required overtime. All candidates must be open to weekday overtime and to working Saturdays when needed, and may occasionally be asked to start up to an hour before the normal shift start time. The role is based in a manufacturing facility, working 100% of the time in a cleanroom in closely arranged workstations. You will regularly use microscopes, hand tools, and measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers, and will spend the majority of your shift performing detailed work under a microscope. The environment follows strict cleanliness and quality standards, and you will need to adhere to cleanroom protocols and gowning requirements. This is a long-term contract assignment, typically 12–18 months in duration, within a high-volume production setting focused on medical devices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.50/hr.
