Business Summary

A well-established, family-run global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead manufacturing operations at its Southern California facility.

The organization has grown from a small manufacturing operation into a global enterprise with more than 1 million square feet of manufacturing capacity and facilities throughout the United States and internationally.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive manufacturing operations experience
• 3+ years of plant management or senior manufacturing leadership experience
• Experience managing a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, quality, inventory, and plant operations
• Demonstrated experience improving productivity, throughput, labor efficiency, and operating costs
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety and regulatory compliance
• Experience implementing Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or similar operational disciplines
• Strong leadership and employee development capabilities
• Experience managing supervisors and production teams across multiple departments or shifts
• Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills
• Experience establishing and managing plant KPIs
• Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline preferred

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

The Plant Manager will have overall responsibility for plant performance, including production, people, safety, quality, productivity, cost control, scheduling, inventory, maintenance, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands how to build teams, improve processes, and deliver measurable manufacturing results.

• Lead all day-to-day plant operations, production, and manufacturing activities
• Manage production supervisors, leads, and plant employees
• Establish production schedules and ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time
• Monitor production output, labor utilization, downtime, scrap, quality, and operating costs
• Develop and manage plant KPIs for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve throughput and efficiency
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
• Partner with Quality to maintain product specifications and reduce defects and rework
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and equipment reliability with the maintenance team
• Manage staffing levels and labor requirements based on production demand
• Oversee inventory movement, materials availability, and production flow
• Develop supervisors and employees through coaching, training, accountability, and performance management
• Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, HR, Quality, and senior leadership
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and cost-control initiatives
• Evaluate manufacturing processes, equipment, automation, and workflow for opportunities to improve performance
• Maintain a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, and customer service
