With responsibility for a day or night shift, the Supervisor continually monitors efficiency and quality metrics, assigns work and provides coaching to supervised staff, and addresses a variety of operational issues. The Supervisor directly contributes to Cardinal Health's customer service reputation by ensuring that shipments are on-time and of high quality, develops the Warehouse Operations talent pool, and enhances operational excellence.ResponsibilitiesLead and motivate employees in a fast-paced distribution environment.Supervises the daily work assignments and performance of Group Leads and Associates. Tracks efficiency, quality, safety, and productivity metrics to determine which tasks are behind- and ahead-of-schedule and provides hands-on guidance to Associates to ensure that pick, pack, and ship tasks are completed correctly and safely.Ensures that all warehouse systems are ready and schedules and prioritizes the work that each Group Lead and team of Associates will complete.Conducts monthly performance evaluations and provides constructive one-on-one feedback to encourage and improve Associates' development and performance.Participate in talent, succession, and development planning processesTracks and manages employee attendance as well as timecards and ensures necessary employee headcount to achieve objectives.Monitors continually productivity and quality metrics including (PPPH, ship and pick dpm etc) Regularly reports on team performance to the site manager.Determines the productivity or safety issue root cause and directs supervised staff on resolving the issue and maintaining operations. Promptly and thoroughly documents the issue and communicates the root cause and resolution to the Manager, Supervisors, and other internal stakeholders, as necessary.Proactively identifies opportunities to improve operations and mitigate risks within supervised team and broader warehouse operations. Provides input into operational excellence initiatives and ensures that there are implemented correctly within own area.Lead teams through change while maintaining employee engagement, operational performance, and business continuity.Demonstrate sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and ownership in managing complex operational situations.Effectively manage conflict, facilitate resolution, and align individuals and teams around shared goals.Prioritize and support safety, quality, compliance, and customer service standards in daily operations.Manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs in a high-volume environment.QualificationsHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred, Bachelor degree strongly preferred2-3 years of experience in operations, warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience strongly preferred.Experience managing medium size teams preferredExperience working with data analysis and/or making decisions based on analysis preferredPrior experience with continuous improvement initiatives preferred (ex. 5S, Gemba walks, Kaizen workshops, takt boards, etc)Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel preferred (Pivot Tables and spreadsheets)Experience working within ERP's (SAP or Manhattan) preferredWhat is expected of you and others at this levelCoordinates and supervises the daily activities of operations or business staffAdministers and exercises policies and proceduresEnsures employees operate within guidelines and role models Cardinal Health's high ethical standards and code of conductDecisions have a direct impact to work unit operations and customersBuilds customer relationships, interprets customer needs and assesses their business requirements, shares key learnings with othersInteractions normally involve information exchange and basic problem resolutionWork together with colleagues across DC (teamwork)Applies expertise to solve standard and non-standard problems within own areaBuilds confidence and respect of others through a positive and energizing styleCandidates who are back-to-work, people with disabilities, without a college degree, and Veterans are encouraged to apply.Cardinal Health supports an inclusive workplace that values diversity of thought, experience and background.
