Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), rotating weekdays and weekends, rotating holidays. Patient ratio approximately 1:4.

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit environment specializing in neurology and stroke care with general medical-surgical overflow
• EMR system: Epic experience required
• Float capability required to support various units within the hospital system as needed
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and social services
• Exposure to specialized neurological procedures including TNK administration, lumbar drains, craniotomy care, and post-TPA protocols
• Contract includes one pre-approved time off request

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown/IMC) experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license) in hand at time of application
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Strong neuro skills required including stroke care, craniotomy management, CVA care, intracranial bleed management, traumatic brain injury care, and pre/post neurosurgery care
• Proficiency in blood product administration, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions, oxygen administration, and peripheral line management
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference
• Successful completion of Ohio fingerprinting process (must be completed promptly upon contract signing)
