Mortgage Underwriter

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for consistent and accurate underwriting as required by bank
• Underwrite various mortgage loan products
• Verify accuracy of supporting employment verification, credit strength, assets, and all other information pertinent to the credit decision process
• Ensures mortgages meet agency requirements to obtain mortgage insurance certificate
• Confers with mortgage processors regarding loan qualification parameters
• Make loan decisions in a timely manner
• Approves loans based on the amounts established in the current lending policy

Requirements:

• 4+ years of mortgage underwriting experience
• Have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Extremely driven to meet deadlines
• Possess professional and leadership qualities
• Ability to multi-task
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to make credit recommendations
• Meet production, quality, and service standards
• Self-motivated
• Have the ability to work independently; producing results in a timely manner.
• Have strong knowledge of documentation types, loan programs and underwriting guidelines.
• Must possess strong organization skills.
