Nutrition Software Coordinator (17528) Posting ID: 17528 Agency: Health & Human Services Comm Department: Nutrition Food Services Salary Range: $4,801.16 - $7,761.50 Monthly Telework Eligible: Yes Closing Date: 06/17/2026 Key Responsibilities Nutrition Software Coordination (30%): Coordinate web-hosted food service software with users and vendors; maintain menu ingredient data; provide technical assistance; act as subject matter expert; analyze data and develop reports. Menu Planning & Database Oversight (30%): Collaborate to develop master menus, support local menu development, oversee data entry, ensure accurate ingredient, recipe, menu, nutrition and cost data; recommend menu changes; monitor nutrition analysis reports. Clinical Nutrition Consultation & Compliance (15%): Provide guidance on clinical nutrition, menu issues, and accrediting standards; conduct surveys, inspections, and reviews for compliance. Clinical Standards (10%): Research and develop the diet manual; guide staff on new methods; coordinate education for clinical dietitians; manage clinical nutrition work groups. Nutritional Product Formulary Support (5%): Evaluate product research; revise specifications; provide expertise on medical nutritional products; negotiate resolutions; communicate formulary updates. Recipe Testing & Product Evaluation (5%): Collaborate on recipe development and testing; serve as evaluator for quality assurance; coordinate supplement testing. Other Duties (5%): Perform additional duties assigned, including disaster response and Continuity of Operations support. Qualifications Registered Dietitian (R.D. or R.D.N.) or licensed dietitian (L.D.) in Texas. At least two (2) years of planning, organizing, directing, controlling, or coordinating clinical nutrition or food service program activities (preferred). At least one (1) year experience using nutrition database software. B.S. or B.A. in food and nutrition or related field with a completed dietetic internship, or equivalent graduate study to satisfy RD requirements. Graduate-level study (18-25 semester hours) in a related field may substitute one year of required work experience. Knowledge of agency programs and policies, accrediting agency requirements (TJC, CMS, ICF/ID), general and therapeutic nutrition, recipe development, menu development, and web-based nutrition software (e.g., Computrition). Skill in professional written and oral communication, preparing correspondence, and supervising staff. Ability to plan, direct, and train employees; analyze and solve work problems; interpret policies and regulations; operate computer and nutrition analysis software; develop conference material and workshops; maintain effective working relationships; study and evaluate programs and make realistic recommendations. Registrations & Licensure Current registration as a Dietitian (R.D. or R.D.N.) with the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Commission on Dietetic Registration and/or licensure as a Dietitian (L.D.) with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians or with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
