The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency nursing and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Scheduled Details Shift: 12-hour nights, 1900 - 0730 Schedule: 3 shifts per week Experience Requirements Candidates must possess a minimum of 1 year of experience working in the Emergency Department within the past 12 months. License and Certification Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in Kansas or Multi-State BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Conscious Sedation Competency Additional certification in TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) is preferred. Unit Information The Emergency Department consists of 29 beds, serving the southern half of Johnson County with an average daily volume of approximately 120 patients. We are recognized as a chest pain and primary stroke center, adept at managing a variety of emergency situations. Floating and Weekend Requirements No floating outside of the unit; however, care for inpatient boarders may be required. Weekend night shifts required: up to 3 per pay period (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Holiday Requirement Traveling staff will be required to work one holiday from each group, including: Thanksgiving Eve or Day, Christmas Eve or Day, New Year’s Eve or Day, based on unit needs. Other Requirements All candidates must complete an 8-hour non-billable orientation. Timekeeping duties will be managed using UKG. Orientation consists of training on various platforms and procedures.
