Human Resources Specialist

Title: Human Resources Specialist Location: Onsite in Alsip, IL Compensation Range: $59,000 - $76,000 Job Overview Griffith Foods is hiring a Human Resources Specialist to help deliver a seamless employee experience while ensuring our people processes run smoothly and efficiently, serving as a trusted resource for employees and managers. This is your opportunity to join Human Resources in an early-career generalist position that provides exposure to all areas of Human Resources, along with opportunities to learn from experienced leaders while taking on increasing responsibility over time. Responsibilities Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation for all employees reporting to the Alsip site, including orientation content/materials, preparation, Workday update and E-Verify completion. Maintain and ensure I-9 compliance for all GFUS-Alsip employees. Maintain employee records in Workday, ensuring new hire information, status changes, and employee updates are accurate and timely. Troubleshoot HRIS access issues for employees and managers, including password resets, account lockouts, and system navigation questions. Maintain accurate employee document records, including hard‑copy personnel files, and ensure required documents are uploaded and organized in Workday. Participate in the Fun Events Committee by planning, preparing, and supporting activities and events that promote employee engagement for the Alsip site. Assist with benefits enrollment process. Willingness to flex with work hours as needed. Travel to other locations periodically for meetings. Qualifications Associate degree or 4 years of relevant HR experience as an equivalent. Minimum 1-year Human Resources experience. Current location within a commutable distance of Alsip, IL. Relocation support is not available. Willingness and ability to work onsite in Alsip, IL 5 days per week. Willingness to flex with work hours as needed. Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Willingness to travel to other locations periodically for meetings. What will set you apart Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial/Organizational behavior, psychology, or a related field. Experience working in an HCM system such as Workday is a plus. 3+ years Human Resources experience. Human Resources certification such as SHRM. Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
