Job Description
DEPUTY DIRECTOR of FINANCIAL CONTROL (Permanent)
Our client, a civic organization in WNY, is looking to hire a Deputy Director of Financial Control to join their growing team.This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, Assistant Controller, and/or Senior Accountant who is a self-starter, has a keen eye for detail, and wants to expand their leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Overseedaily financial operations/controls to ensure the overall financialstability of the organization
Supportbudget preparation, forecasting, and projection responsibilities byconducting in-depth financial analysis
Maintain andmanage funds, budgetary controls, chart of accounts, etc.
Play a keyrole in financial audits by preparing schedules and providing necessaryfinancial statements and supporting documentation
Overseereconciliations of financial accounts, applications, and systems
Overseebudget reporting, cash management, and cost control activities
Analyzecurrent processes, procedures, policies, and financial systems to identifygaps and implement improvements
Act as therepresentative for the finance department when collaborating with otherleadership team members to make key financial decisions for theorganization
Manage andmentor finance and accounting staff members-provide training and guidancewhen necessary
Ensure financialtransactions, reports, and documents maintain compliance at all times
Maintainup-to-date knowledge of government accounting standards and emergingregulations
Completespecial projects in a timely manner
Work well ina team environment as well as independently
Other duties as assigned/as necessary

Details:

Position is full-time, direct hire
100% in-office; standard 40-hourwork week
Must live in the Cityof Buffalo or move to the city within 6 months of start date
$70,000 - $85,000 annuallydepending on experience

Bachelor's degree inAccounting + 2 years Accounting experience; Associate'sdegree in Accounting + 4 years Accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP;governmental accounting is a plus
Proficient computer skills,specifically Excel & various financial software
Strong organizational andtime management skills
Excellent analysis andinterpretation skills
Strong communication andpresentation skills
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivated
Relocation notavailable
