Civil Design Engineer - Land Development

You will work with project engineers and managers to complete a wide variety of engineering assignments, including development of construction plans and specifications, stormwater management design, grading plans, utility plans, erosion control and SWPPP plans, construction details, and project correspondence. Responsibilities Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on projects Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies Assist with project plans and specifications, preparing cost and quantity take‑off estimates Conduct construction observation activities, including staking, documenting activities, providing general oversight, and interacting with contractors, subcontractors, residents and City staff Travel periodically to work sites and other project‑related locations Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post‑secondary institution and successful passage of the Fundamentals of Engineering (Engineer Intern) exam Engineer‑In‑Training Certification (or ability to receive in 12 months) Capability to work in outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain for construction observation duties Academic or on‑the‑job experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D Basic MS Office skills including Word and Excel Valid driver’s license and own transportation (business travel reimbursed) Strong listening skills and clear written and spoken English; interaction with City staff, residents, contractors and subcontractors Education preference: Bachelors of Civil Engineering Bachelors of Environmental Engineering Bachelors of Water Resources Engineering Bachelors of Transportation Engineering Bachelors of Structural Engineering Licenses & Certifications: Engineer In Training (preferred) Skills: AutoCAD Civil 3D (required) MicroStation (preferred) Revit (preferred) Benefits Competitive compensation plan with overtime compensation available to most employees Discretionary bonuses available to most employees Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) with 100% company‑paid contributions 401(k) match program Paid time off (PTO) Volunteer Time Off (VTO) Six paid flexible company holidays Two floating personal holidays for important events Tuition reimbursement Parental leave Short‑term and long‑term disability coverage Dependent care reimbursement Employee assistance program Health, vision, and life insurance Flexible spending account Bolton & Menk will not provide visa sponsorship or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students.
