GIS Analyst / Senior GIS Specialist (5+ Years Experience)Location: Atlanta, GA 30309 Contract-1 Year Client - Southern Company Gas.Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced GIS Lead / Senior GIS Specialist with 5+ years of experience and a Master's degree in GIS or a related field. This role is responsible for leading high-impact GIS initiatives, guiding team members, and ensuring the organization effectively leverages spatial data for strategic planning and decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee critical GIS initiatives across the organizationEnsure optimal utilization and accuracy of geographical data for business insightsDrive the implementation of advanced GIS tools, techniques, and methodologiesCollaborate with senior leadership and top-tier stakeholders on GIS-related strategiesMentor, train, and guide GIS professionals within the teamPartner with external GIS experts and consultants on specialized projectsEnsure GIS strategies, workflows, and outputs align with business objectivesSupport continuous improvement of GIS processes, standards, and data governanceQualificationsMaster's degree in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or related field5+ years of professional experience in GIS or a closely related disciplineDeep expertise in GIS systems, data management, and spatial analyticsDemonstrated ability to lead GIS projects and collaborate cross-functionallyStrong communication and stakeholder-management skillsAbility to translate complex GIS information into actionable business insightsSkills & ExpertiseExpert proficiency in GIS software and tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, ESRI suite)Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlinesExperience implementing GIS best practices and emerging technologies
