Bioinformatics - Assistant to Associate Professor, Non-Tenure Research Track

Bioinformatics – Assistant to Associate Professor, Non-Tenure Research Track Rutgers Cancer Institute and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School seek applicants for a non‑tenure research track faculty position in bioinformatics at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will provide state‑of‑the‑art bioinformatics support to our research programs and be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team in cancer research. Responsibilities Provide bioinformatics support to cancer research projects led by faculty and institute members. Perform computational analyses including spatial transcriptomics, long‑read sequencing, bulk and single‑cell RNA‑seq, CRISPR‑sgRNA analysis, ChIP‑seq, HLA typing, data mining of public datasets, and development of machine‑learning models for complex biological data. Bill collaborators hourly using iLab billing software. Allocate approximately 30% of effort to own research on cancer‑related bioinformatics. Participate in educational workshops training postdoctoral fellows and students on bioinformatics methods. Contribute to grant proposals, publications, and reporting as required by the department. Qualifications PhD in bioinformatics or a related field. Publication record demonstrating broad computational and analytical experience. Strong experience and peer‑reviewed publications in one or more of the following areas: spatial transcriptomics, long‑read sequencing, bulk RNA‑seq, single‑cell RNA‑seq, sgRNA CRISPR analysis, data mining of public datasets, ChIP‑seq, HLA typing and immunogenomics, and machine‑learning approaches for complex biological data. Preferred Qualifications Experience with large‑scale genomic or transcriptomic data analysis. Proficiency with bioinformatics pipelines and workflow management systems. Salary and Compensation A minimum salary of $114,622; the final offer will be based on qualifications, experience, funding availability, market benchmarks, and internal equity.
