About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with patient ratios of 1:5-6, able to manage up to 1:7 during call-ins. - Familiarity with trauma surgery, post-bariatric surgery, post-abdominal surgery, post-amputation surgery, and urological issues. - Comfortable with electronic charting systems. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical/Telemetry specialty. The shift is 3x12 hours during the night. Weekend work is required every other weekend, and holiday work is expected every other holiday. The unit has a total of 46 beds and primarily handles cases related to trauma surgery, post-bariatric surgery, post-abdominal surgery, post-amputation surgery, and urological issues. The nurse will also manage overflow medical and cardiac patients. The role involves accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, telemetry monitoring, and managing various medical procedures and patient care protocols. Travelers must have experience working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate effective patient management skills. All candidates must provide evidence of required certifications before starting. The environment necessitates teamwork with interdisciplinary support from various healthcare professionals. This position requires flexibility and the ability to float to different units as needed. The expected daily patient census is around 40. A maximum of 10 days of time off is permitted during the contract period. Candidates must understand professional expectations, as unprofessional behavior or shift call-offs will be taken seriously.
