Job Description
Title: PCU RN - Orthopedics

Schedule:
- Weekend requirement: at least 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (combination of Fri/Sat/Sun)
- On-call: 1-2 weekdays per week and 2 weekends per 13 weeks
- Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Assignment Details:
- Orientation: 12 hours

Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years RN experience
- Trauma Level 1 experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (NIHSS preferred)
- Experience with peripheral nerve block catheters and surgical drains is preferred
- Proficiency in charting with EPIC

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients in a progressive care unit setting, focusing on orthopedic and post-operative recovery.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to appropriate medical staff.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans and post-operative instructions.

Compliance / Notes:
- Local hires not accepted within a certain distance from the facility.
- Return to office/time-off cap: maximum of 7 days (requests exceeding this require approval).
- Onboarding documents due 2 Fridays before start date.
- Skills training for infusion pumps and glucometers must be completed by the Sunday before start.
