Management Company Controller

Job Overview – Management Company Controller Compensation: $175,000 – $200,000/year + bonus Location: New York, NY Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid) Atlantic Group is hiring a Management Company Controller in New York, NY for our client, supporting management company accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and corporate finance operations. This senior accounting leadership role is responsible for overseeing the management company accounting function, partnering with outsourced accounting providers, and ensuring accurate financial reporting, expense management, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate has extensive accounting experience within the alternative investment industry and enjoys operating in a hands‑on, high‑ownership environment. Responsibilities as the Management Company Controller Financial Reporting: Lead the monthly close process, prepare financial statements, reconcile accounts, and deliver timely financial reporting. Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and financial processes to support compliance and operational excellence. Accounting Operations: Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, employee expense reimbursements, and other accounting operations while ensuring accuracy and policy compliance. Third‑Party Relationship Management: Manage relationships with external service providers and support the efficient execution of accounting and financial operations. Audit & Compliance: Coordinate audits, support tax and regulatory reporting, and provide financial information to meet compliance requirements. Budgeting & Financial Analysis: Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency. Qualifications for the Management Company Controller Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Experience: 8+ years of management company accounting experience within a hedge fund, private equity firm, asset manager, or alternative investment firm is required. Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of corporate accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, accounts payable, and outsourced accounting oversight within the investment management industry is required. Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems with experience supporting month‑end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, and audit processes is required. Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to work independently, manage external service providers, build cross‑functional relationships, and improve financial processes are required. #J-18808-Ljbffr Atlantic Group
