Accounting Manager

The Hiring Advisors is currently partnering with an incredibly innovative, fast-growing manufacturing and technology company near Culver City, CA to find a powerhouse Accounting Manager who can untangle complex ledgers, master the month-end close, and keep audits running smoother than a freshly oiled machine. If you know the difference between a simple vendor invoice and a complex manufacturing purchase order—and you actually enjoy a good variance analysis—we should definitely talk. The Mission (What You’ll Actually Be Doing) Owner of the Ledger: You will completely own the month-end and year-end close processes, preparing journal entries and tracking down variances like a financial detective. The AP/AR Commander: From processing vendor invoices and employee expenses to driving billing, collections, and DSO monitoring, you'll manage the full cash-in, cash-out cycle. Audit Shield: You’ll lead external audits, gather required documentation, and maintain ironclad internal controls so the auditors leave with a smile. System Optimization: You’ll navigate and optimize financial systems (think QuickBooks Advanced, BILL, and Brex) to keep data flowing seamlessly. The Portal Master: You will handle payroll-related accounting and manage access to federal, state, and local tax portals to ensure everything stays perfectly compliant. What Makes You the Perfect Fit? The Background: You have 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience , specifically within a defense, heavy manufacturing, or government contracting environment. Cost Accounting Wizardry: You have a demonstrated understanding of cost accounting and inventory tracking. The Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. A CPA is highly preferred but not a dealbreaker if your hands‑on experience is rock solid. The Tech Stack: You have advanced Excel skills (if you can’t Pivot Table in your sleep, we might have a problem) and solid proficiency with QuickBooks or similar ERP platforms. The Fine Print: Because of the nature of the space, you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations.
