Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of neurology nursing experience required License: Valid state compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Neuro RN experience - Comfortable with the NIH scale - Proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses Description: This position will require the registered nurse to float between units. Weekends are required every other weekend. The expected patient ratio is 1:5. Experience with telemetry and neuro stepdown patients is essential. Candidates should have a strong understanding of neurological assessments and monitoring. The work environment includes a designated stroke unit and a spine center of excellence. The health care team includes interdisciplinary support from various services. Applicants should be proficient in the charting system used in the facility. The role includes managing dysrhythmias and providing pre/post neurosurgery care. Candidates must have experience with Craniotomy, cerebrovascular accidents, and traumatic brain injuries. Special equipment knowledge and experience in procedural sedation administration/monitoring are necessary. The facility emphasizes patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities as per unit needs.
