About the Opportunity

We're partnering with an established engineering consulting firm that's looking to add a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC and plumbing design to its growing team!

The firm specializes in designing mechanical building systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, offering a unique opportunity to apply traditional MEP engineering expertise to complex industrial and municipal infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Design mechanical systems including air handling units, rooftop units, exhaust fans, boilers, pumps, hydronic systems, and ventilation equipment.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations, equipment sizing, and mechanical system selection.
• Design and coordinate heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution systems.
• Develop plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary drainage, and associated piping systems.
• Design HVAC systems for mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, control buildings, and treatment facility support spaces.
• Prepare mechanical drawings, equipment schedules, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Utilize Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical design and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Collaborate with electrical, structural, civil, and process engineers.
• Lead projects from conceptual design through construction administration.
• Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and participate in site visits.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in HVAC and plumbing design within an MEP consulting environment.
• Experience designing commercial, industrial, institutional, or municipal building systems.
• Experience with HVAC equipment selection, ventilation design, hydronic systems, and plumbing systems.
• Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and applicable mechanical and plumbing codes.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Strong communication, technical problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Water/wastewater experience is a plus, but candidates with transferable MEP building systems experience are encouraged to apply.
