Job Overview A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney in Norton Shores, MI. The ideal candidate will have experience in family law, a commitment to responsive client service, and the ability to manage a litigation docket effectively. Motivated attorneys eager to learn and expand into family law are encouraged to apply. Duties Meet with clients to understand legal needs and explain issues and outcomes. Manage personal caseload with staff support. Research relevant case law and statutes. Prepare legal documents, including motions, orders, and settlements. Attend hearings, mediations, and trials. Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel or pro per parties. Prepare for trials, including drafting examinations and trial briefs. Requirements Active member in good standing of the State Bar of Michigan or ability to obtain quickly. 1–5 years of family law experience preferred. Ability to learn necessary skills for family law success. Adaptable team player with a growth mindset. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Licensed to practice law, or pending admittance, in Michigan. Skills Professional written and oral argument skills. Strong legal analysis and problem‑solving skills. Effective communication with clients and staff. Ability to build rapport with various parties. Attention to detail and independent work capability.
