Research Faculty - Neuroscience (Open Rank/Track Faculty)

Position Overview The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center, Department of Neuroscience is inviting applications for tenure‑track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The department aims to become a Top 10 nationally ranked department within five years and is building cutting‑edge basic and translational neuroscience programs. Research Focus Mechanisms underlying normal nervous system function and disease or injury Aging, interoception, brain‑gut interactions Gene therapy/gene editing, functional in‑vivo brain circuit mapping, connectomics Neuroengineering (brain‑computer interface, neuromodulation), whole brain imaging, computational neuroscience Big data modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence Neural plasticity, neuroimmunology, neurodegeneration/cognitive impairment, epilepsy, behavior Responsibilities Conduct high‑quality research and secure external funding Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and mentor students Participate in departmental service and university activities Engage in clinical care for clinical‑track appointments (where applicable) Qualifications Ph.D. or equivalent in neuroscience or related field At least 3 years postdoctoral experience with a strong record of scholarly activity For Associate or Full Professor rank, nationally or internationally recognized scholars with consistent externally funded research programs Application Process Prospective candidates should apply via Workday and include a cover letter (indicating desired rank), a research statement (up to 3 pages outlining past accomplishments and future plans), an updated CV, and a list of three references.
