Open Faculty Search for Tenure Track Faculty with a PhD or MD/DO in Perioperative Health Care Research in Anesthesiology, Neuroscience, Pain and Addiction Position Overview: The Department of Anesthesiology at Wexner Medical Center/Ohio State University College of Medicine is initiating a search for one (or more) Tenure Track faculty positions in Basic, Translational and/or Clinical Research. Candidates will focus on perioperative care and anesthesiology, with emphasis on Neuroscience, Pain and Addiction research. Applicants are encouraged to apply for Assistant, Associate or Full Professor positions. Successful applicants will join a growing and dynamic research environment dedicated to translating innovative laboratory discoveries to human studies and clinical trials with a long‑term goal to improve patient outcomes. The department has an expanding program in ischemic spinal cord injury, postsurgical delirium, neuromodulation, neuroprotection and perioperative pain management. Collaborative opportunities exist across NIH grants, pediatric devices, and interdisciplinary teams. Faculty will have a robust clinical research infrastructure and access to shared resources. Qualifications Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, post‑doctoral training, commitment to basic, translational and/or clinical research, and a history of strong research productivity in strategic target areas. Position(s) are for NIH (or equivalent) funded investigators, though a significant funding record from other sources will be considered. High value placed on team science and individuals who develop strong extramurally funded collaborations and innovative programs with physicians and basic scientists inside and outside the department. Applications from candidates with innovative AI, machine learning, bioinformatics and computational models in perioperative medicine with an NIH or equivalent funding record are highly encouraged. Highly motivated early‑stage investigators may apply with a solid background, track record of productivity, ability to establish an independent research program, and to secure NIH or equivalent funding. Mindset and track record reflecting adherence to standards of professional ethical conduct. Accomplishments should demonstrate significant potential to attain tenure and a distinguished record as a faculty member. Salary commensurate with previous training and experience.
