About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Research & Development to spearhead scientific strategy, technology development, and research execution across various plant biotechnology programs. This pivotal role involves leading R&D programs focused on innovative agricultural traits and crop improvement technologies, directing and mentoring teams of scientists, and driving the development and implementation of plant transformation and tissue culture systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing project priorities, communicating scientific findings, and identifying emerging technologies to enhance the company's innovation pipeline. Applicants for the Vice President of Research & Development position at the company must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field and have a minimum of 10 years' experience in plant biotechnology, crop science, or agricultural research. The role requires a proven track record in developing and optimizing plant transformation systems, extensive hands-on experience with plant tissue culture and regeneration, and a strong background in working with agronomically relevant crop species. Leadership experience, a strong scientific publication record, and expertise in plant breeding, molecular biology, and gene editing are essential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational, and strategic planning skills, and demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
