The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Walker seeking Cost Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain standard product costs.
- Analyze manufacturing variances and provide detailed explanations.
- Prepare cost of goods sold and inventory valuation reports.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with cost data.
- Participate in make-or-buy analysis and capital expenditure evaluations.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and track savings initiatives.
- Reconcile inventory sub-ledger to the general ledger.
- Assist with month-end close activities related to cost accounting.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
