Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU position requiring hands-on post-op cardiac surgery recovery experience and proficiency with advanced life-support equipment.

Details

• 18-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) caring for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac and lung transplantation, VAD placement, and other complex procedures
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
• Rotating 7A/7P shift schedule, straight PMs also considered
• EPIC EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and Critical Care Certification preferred
• Current experience recovering post-op cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting
• Hands-on experience with ventilators, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive drip titration, Level 1 IABP, and ECMO
• Trauma course experience preferred
• Experience in a large facility (500+ beds) required
• Trained and worked in a dedicated Open-Heart Unit receiving patients directly from the OR

Additional Information

• Provide direct post-operative care for complex cardiac and lung surgery patients, including transplant and VAD recipients
• Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Strong candidates are prioritized given the high acuity of this unit
