Head of Marketing 

Hybrid 

Philadelphia, PA or Boston, MA. (prefer Boston) 

We are seeking a hands-on, strategic Head of Marketing to lead the next stage of growth for a growing sports technology company. This is a true player-coach role: you will lead a small, expanding marketing team while remaining directly involved in campaign execution, content, analytics, testing, and demand generation.

The ideal candidate is a data-driven marketer who can move seamlessly between strategy and execution and has a proven history of building demand, managing budgets, launching campaigns, and developing high-performing teams.

What You Will Own

• Pipeline: Own B2B top-of-funnel growth from first touch through qualified opportunity, establishing quarterly pipeline goals and reporting against results.
• Consumer Demand: Lead paid, organic, and partner marketing channels to drive consumer growth.
• Brand Story: Define and communicate the company’s value proposition and the importance of its data and technology.
• Product Marketing: Own positioning, pricing narratives, product launches, sales enablement, and go-to-market strategies for an expanding product portfolio.
• Experimentation: Develop a continuous testing program across channels, messaging, offers, and formats, documenting results and applying learnings.
• Measurement: Establish attribution, funnel reporting, and reliable customer acquisition metrics that provide the organization with a clear view of marketing performance.
• Team Leadership: Build, hire, develop, and lead the marketing organization through its next stage of growth.
• Customer Marketing: Develop case studies, testimonials, and customer success stories that demonstrate the impact of the company's products.

Who You Are

• Data-driven: You know your customer acquisition costs, payback periods, channel performance, and pipeline contribution and use those metrics to make decisions.
• Experiment-focused: You believe in testing, learning, and iterating quickly rather than relying solely on large, long-term campaigns.
• A strong storyteller: You are an excellent writer and editor who can translate complex data and technology into compelling stories that resonate with customers.
• Hands-on: You are comfortable writing copy, building presentations, reviewing dashboards, improving landing pages, briefing agencies, and participating in sales calls.
• Collaborative: You understand that leadership in a growing organization means doing whatever is necessary to move the business forward.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of marketing experience, including leadership experience with responsibility for pipeline, revenue, or growth.
• Direct ownership of a paid marketing budget and demonstrated accountability for results.
• Experience working across both B2B and consumer marketing, or demonstrated ability to successfully operate across both audiences.
• Proven experience hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing marketing professionals.
• Strong writing and communication skills with examples of marketing content or campaigns you are proud of.
• Demonstrated experience personally launching and managing marketing campaigns.

Preferred Experience

• Marketing experience with hardware, connected devices, or technology products.
• Experience in sports, fitness, performance, or related industries.
• Experience building a formal marketing function within a growing or founder-led organization.
• Experience selling to clubs, schools, academies, associations, or governing organizations.
