We're looking for an experienced Floor Manager to oversee front-of-house operations during service, ensuring every guest has a great experience while keeping the bar running smoothly and safely. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be on the floor, not behind a desk, setting the tone for the shift and solving problems in real time.Key Duties & Responsibilities
Service & Guest Experience
- Oversee the floor during service, ensuring prompt, friendly, and high-quality service across the bar and dining areas
- Greet and check in on guests, particularly regulars and larger parties
- Handle guest complaints and service issues directly and professionally, escalating only when necessary
Operations
- Open and/or close the venue, including POS reconciliation and end-of-night reporting
- Monitor bar stock levels during service and flag low inventory to management
- Conduct pre-shift walkthroughs to ensure the space is guest-ready (cleanliness, table setup, music/lighting, AV)
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, and event bookings on the floor, coordinating with the events team as needed
- Communicate nightly sales performance and notable issues to management
- Flag maintenance, equipment, or facilities issues for follow-up
- 2+ years of experience in a bar/restaurant supervisory or management role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of bar operations, POS systems, and NYC/NYS alcohol service laws
- Ability to stay calm and make quick decisions during high-volume, high-pressure service
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Food Protection Certificate and TIPS (or equivalent) certification preferred
