Supervisor, Operations

Overview Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC seeks an Operations Supervisor to lead and oversee operations at a mid- to large-sized transportation terminal. The position manages up to 150 employees, oversees inbound and outbound freight, and coordinates pickup and delivery functions across multiple shifts within an LTL environment. Responsibilities Lead, guide, and direct employees, including setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing coaching, counseling, and development. Manage an efficient, clean, and safe LTL operation, including dock planning and schedule setup. Engage in hiring, training, and terminations, ensuring all paperwork follows company guidelines. Enforce compliance with all company policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations. Meet assigned KPIs and ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight. Verify freight for billing and observe loading of trucks for proper handling and distribution. Maintain safety measures, including proper freight balance on trucks. Oversee operations to ensure customer satisfaction while minimizing costs. Record all pertinent information on freight transport, including dates of departure and delivery. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent education and experience. Minimum of 5 years supervisory or management experience. Knowledge of all aspects of an LTL station preferred. Strong computer skills. Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor, and terminate employees. Customer service focus and excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills. Excellent planning and organization skills. Knowledge of hazardous materials preferred. Strong work ethic and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and in all weather conditions. Physical ability to lift approximately 50 pounds, or more if required by essential functions. Compliance with all company policies, rules, procedures, and Code of Conduct. Ability to interact well with others, work independently or in a team setting, and handle tight time constraints in a high‑volume environment. The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.
