Fund Accounting Manager

Role Description The Fund Accounting Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Provo, UT, responsible for overseeing a portfolio of fund clients end to end. You will be first in on new deals: reading LPAs and side letters, interpreting deal-specific terms, building the carried interest waterfall, management fee schedule, and complex allocations while meeting directly with GPs. You will be supported by a team of staff, interns, and other team members that run day-to-day production while you review their work, resolve complex issues, and hold final sign-off. The role is client-facing: you will work directly with GPs and institutional investors. Spero is an AI-native firm. Our fund accountants work daily with automation tools and AI agents. You do not need to arrive as an expert, but genuine enthusiasm for learning and building with these tools is essential. Spero is growing quickly and this role will have an outsized opportunity to grow within the firm. Qualifications 3–5+ years in fund accounting or fund administration (private equity, real estate, venture capital, or credit); CPA or active progress toward licensure Experience across a variety of fund structures — closed-end, open-ended, and rolling/evergreen vehicles — and managing multiple clients and competing deadlines concurrently Demonstrated ability to interpret LPAs, side letters, complex waterfalls, and unique deal terms into accurate calculations and statements Hands-on experience with complex fund-to-GP reconciliations and intercompany payables Track record producing quarterly capital account statements and completing annual financial statements with external auditors Experience reviewing the work of others and leading a team Polished, client-facing communication with the presence to work directly with GPs and institutional investors Proficiency with — or a strong drive to learn — AI tools, including Claude Code and agentic workflows #J-18808-Ljbffr Spero CFO
