The Clerical Assistant 2 position with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services offers a chance to support families and individuals in Luzerne County. This role provides essential clerical support that helps ensure the accurate and timely processing of information for Income Maintenance Programs. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

• Data Entry: Enter information into designated systems and verify that all transactions are correct and compliant
• Application Processing: Handle various application tasks including import, clearance, registration, and distribution
• Inquiry Work: Review documents and complete transactions while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines
• Telephone Support: Receive calls, relay messages, provide coverage, and contact individuals when directed
• Reception Duties: Greet visitors, manage schedules, provide information, and direct individuals appropriately
• Mail and Records: Sort, scan, process, and distribute mail and materials in line with policies and procedures

Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch. Travel and overtime as needed. Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.

Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hazleton, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).
