Job Overview Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) – A role supporting the Plasma Center operations, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager. BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements. Conduct physical examinations and blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results. Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and donor transport to emergency care. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned. Current CPR and AED certification. Compliance with state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two (2) years in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation and Benefits Location: USA – TX – Tyler. Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 (salary may vary based on qualifications).
