Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Experience with vents, titration of pressors, and insulin drips Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs Willingness to work two shifts every other weekend Description: Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Step Down Unit. The role requires the management of patients transitioning from intensive care. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. Candidates must have experience in titration of vasopressors, sedation medication, insulin drips, trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes. Nurses should be proficient in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing high acuity patient issues. The position requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills. All candidates must have been actively working in a bedside capacity within the last six months. Preference will be given to those with previous charge experience. This role entails adherence to all established protocols and interdisciplinary support systems. Expected patient age group is primarily adults. The unit typically cares for individuals requiring high acuity and specialized medical interventions. Travelers will be responsible for the care and monitoring of a diverse patient population with acute medical needs. Floating to lower acuity floors may be required based on facility needs.
