Tasting Room Supervisor

Location: Temecula, CA

Position: Full Time | On Site

Compensation: $27.00 to $30.00 per hour

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Tasting Room Supervisor to join a premier winery and hospitality destination in Temecula Wine Country.

This is a hands-on front-of-house leadership position for someone who enjoys creating memorable guest experiences while leading a team in a polished, high-volume hospitality environment.

The Tasting Room Supervisor will support daily operations, coach and direct team members, maintain service standards, promote wine sales and wine club memberships, and help ensure every guest receives warm, professional, and knowledgeable service.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

• Supervise tasting room associates during assigned shifts

• Direct daily workflow and assign responsibilities

• Assist with onboarding and training new team members

• Coach employees and provide ongoing performance feedback

• Communicate daily priorities and operational needs

• Promote teamwork, professionalism, and accountability

• Support management with employee and operational concerns

Guest Experience

• Deliver exceptional hospitality and memorable guest experiences

• Lead by example on the tasting room floor

• Serve as a primary point of contact for guest questions and concerns

• Handle service recovery situations professionally and confidently

• Maintain composure during high-volume periods

• Ensure established service and presentation standards are consistently maintained

Wine Sales & Membership

• Promote wine sales and tasting experiences

• Support wine club membership growth

• Educate guests on available wines and experiences

• Help create an engaging environment that encourages repeat visits

• Support wine club events and member experiences

Daily Operations

• Perform opening and closing procedures

• Monitor floor coverage and staffing needs

• Coordinate employee breaks and meal periods

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards

• Assist with inventory counts and product replenishment

• Support cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation

• Assist with reservations, POS systems, and guest transactions

• Support special events and winery programming

Safety & Responsible Service

• Maintain a safe environment for guests and employees

• Follow all responsible alcohol service requirements

• Exercise sound judgment regarding guest intoxication and alcohol service

• Follow established safety and emergency procedures

• Promptly communicate accidents, maintenance issues, and safety concerns

What We're Looking For

• Must be at least 21 years old

• Previous leadership experience in winery, restaurant, hotel, events, hospitality, or customer service preferred

• Strong guest service and communication skills

• Ability to coach, motivate, and direct team members

• Comfortable handling guest concerns and difficult conversations

• Ability to remain calm and professional in a high-volume environment

• Interest in wine and willingness to develop strong product knowledge

• Comfortable learning POS, reservation, membership, scheduling, and reporting systems

• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional special events

Schedule

Wednesday through Sunday

Approximately 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Weekend and holiday availability is required. Occasional evening wine club or special events may be scheduled with advance notice.

Compensation & Benefits

$27.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hospitality-first leader who enjoys being on the floor, interacting with guests, developing employees, and helping drive sales.

Experience in a winery is valuable, but candidates coming from upscale restaurants, hotels, resorts, tasting rooms, luxury hospitality, or other guest-focused environments may also be a strong fit.
