Unit Information Number of Beds: 30 Staffing: 40 staff members Patient Ratios: SD/ICU: 2-4:1 Med-Surg: 5-6:1 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT) on the floor as needed General Responsibilities As an RN in the Acute Care Unit, you will take part in a collaborative, team-based care model where you will: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment. Conduct routine assessments and monitor patient status. Administer medications, perform procedures, and manage treatment plans. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications Required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) completed prior to the end of orientation for RNs PCT/NAs must have BLS certification Preferred Experience: Prior experience in ICU/Stepdown units Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred Skills and Attributes The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities: Ability to function efficiently in a dynamic environment. Capable of managing complex patient needs across varying levels of care. Effective interdisciplinary communication and collaboration skills. Work Environment You will be working in a supportive unit that utilizes a team-based care model, engaging daily in case discussions with various healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, case management, and therapy providers to ensure coordinated care and optimal discharge planning. Dress Code Nurses: Navy blue scrubs NAs: Galaxy/Royal blue scrubs Schedule A weekend rotation is required, with three scheduled shifts on Monday and Friday over a six-week period. Holidays are assigned according to the staffing matrix.
