Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare the Operating Room : Set up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with Patient Prep : Position and drape patients safely.
• Support Surgeons : Pass instruments, hold retractors, and maintain a clear view of the surgical field.
• Ensure Sterility : Maintain sterile technique throughout the procedure.
• Handle Instruments : Organize and manage surgical tools, including counting instruments and sponges.
• Assist with Anesthesia : Prepare and handle medications and equipment as needed.
• Manage Specimens : Handle and label specimens for pathology.
• Clean Up : Disinfect the operating room and instruments post-procedure.
• Document : Record procedure details, including instrument counts.
• Maintain Equipment : Check and report on the condition of surgical equipment.
• Collaborate with Team : Work with surgeons, nurses, and other professionals.
• Follow Protocols : Adhere to infection control and hospital policies.
• Assist Postoperatively : Help transfer patients to recovery and support postoperative care.
• Continuous Learning : Stay updated on surgical techniques and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Licensure : Colorado Surgical Technologist license or the ability to obtain it before your start date (required).
• Certification : Basic Life Support certification (required).
• Experience : 4+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist (strongly preferred).
