Location & Schedule Avera Behavioral Health Center – Sioux Falls, regular work, rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends (United States). Pay Range $24.50 - $48.50, actual pay based on experience, eligible for sign‑on bonus up to $15,000. Position Highlights Eligible for sign‑on bonus up to $15,000. Adolescent program expanding to 40 units; child unit 14 bed; adolescent residential 8 bed; 1 LPN for 7‑8 patient ratio; self‑scheduling program. Overview The Avera Behavioral Health Adolescent & Child Unit is a structured, age‑appropriate therapeutic environment designed to help adolescents (13‑17) and children (5‑12) develop healthy coping skills and set/complete goals. What You Will Do Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating the nursing care plan, coordinating with other providers, and delivering physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical condition, psychological status, and social factors, and establishing nursing diagnoses, objectives, interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teach healthcare requirements by setting patient care goals, instructing patients and families on conditions, medications, and self‑care skills, answering questions, and providing information and resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, reviewing patient records, noting changing conditions, re‑evaluating care objectives, and modifying care plans as needed. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by following infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, and organization, legal, and regulatory standards. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Maintain operating patient care equipment by following instructions, troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Manage patient care supplies by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with active Board of Nursing license in the state of practice. 1‑3 years of clinical experience (preferred). Ability to work specified hours, perform essential job functions satisfactorily, and demonstrate adequate visual acuity and communication skills.
