You will be an essential front-line partner coordinating admissions, navigating insurance complexities, and ensuring every patient receives seamless, dignified access to care. What You’ll Do You will handle front-end registration, financial clearance, and scheduling workflows with empathy and clinical precision: Patient Registration & Intake: Check in and register patients, explain and collect required consents and financial responsibility forms, and collect co-payments and deductibles. Insurance Verification & Authorizations: Verify coverage, perform documentation audits for medical necessity and payer requirements (including Medicare), and secure prior authorizations for outpatient procedures and inpatient admissions. Scheduling & Patient Coordination: Schedule clinic and procedure appointments, educate patients on pre- and post-exam guidelines within scope, and dispatch reminder notifications and recall letters. Records & Front-Office Management: Maintain, scan, and audit medical records for quantitative/qualitative accuracy, manage incoming correspondence (calls, emails, faxes), and direct non-clinical inquiries promptly. Regulatory Integrity: Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and The Joint Commission standards while exemplifying Rise Community Hospital’s core organizational values. What We’re Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or higher preferred. Certifications: Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Certified Healthcare Access Associate ( CHAA ) or Certified Healthcare Access Manager ( CHAM ) preferred. Experience: 1+ years of registration, patient access, or front-desk experience in an acute care hospital or clinical setting preferred. Strong working knowledge of health insurance verification, copay collection, and prior authorization workflows. Proficiency in EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and rapid, accurate data entry. Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset. High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and composure in fast-paced environments.
