Assistant Park Manager

Do you enjoy working outdoors, serving citizens, and are seeking seasonal employment? Portage County Parks Department has a Seasonal Assistant Park Manager available! This position is available immediately and may work through the end of October. This position will work 20 - 40 hrs / week. Starting pay is $18.03/ hour Below are the main job responsibilities: Performs park clean up and custodial duties at various parks and other areas as assigned. Picks up litter and garbage by hand. Cleans park buildings including toilets, showers, open and enclosed shelters, nature center and storage areas. Mows and trims grass by hand and machine. May assist with seasonal mowing and maintenance projects at any park. Collects fees, enforces park rules and regulations and provides park users with information and aid. Collects fees for camping lodge rentals, firewood, dump stations. Enforces the park ordinance and other park rules and regulations and provides information and emergency first aid to park users. Performs maintenance and repair projects under the supervision of the park manager. These are the skills we are seeking: High School diploma or equivalent. Prior park experience preferred.
