Head of Legal About the Company Well-regarded AI startup Industry Information Technology and Services Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking a Head of Legal to join their team. This is a pivotal role, as the successful candidate will be the first legal hire and will be responsible for leading all legal activities with a strong focus on commercial growth and deals. The Head of Legal will be tasked with handling a high volume of enterprise customer and partnership agreements, working closely with the GTM teams, and putting in place playbooks and processes to streamline the legal function. Additionally, the role involves ensuring compliance in product matters, particularly those related to trust, safety, and fraud, and supporting corporate and strategic legal matters as the business expands. The ideal candidate for the Head of Legal position at the company will have a JD and a minimum of 5-10 years' of relevant legal experience, with a background that includes both a top law firm and in-house experience, particularly in the tech sector. Experience in negotiating large-scale deals and a proven track record of working in a high-growth tech startup environment to scale the legal function are essential. The role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively embed the legal function within the business and is adept at handling the legal aspects of commercial growth and deals.
