Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary We're seeking a full-time Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team! This role will be responsible for accurately tracking and recording cash flow. This position can be either hybrid from our San Diego La Jolla office or fully remote for candidates in California. Primary Responsibilities Review and record invoices from vendors to ensure accuracy in billing Vendor onboarding Acquire proper approval for billing and vendor set-up Process expense reports from employees to identify discrepancies and elevate them appropriately Maintain 1099s and generate report at year‑end Assist with the resolution of discrepancies or problems that prohibit timely ordering of goods and services or timely payment of invoices Provide internal and external audit assistance as required Update deposit log on a regular basis Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports Reconcile supplier statements Reconcile bank statements Perform ad hoc duties as assigned Education High school diploma or GED equivalent required Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field experience preferred Experience 3-5 years of related experience in Accounts Payable Bi‑lingual a plus (Fluent in Spanish) Technical Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Strong understanding of General Ledger system and Accounts Payable processing Understanding of GAAP Soft Skills Highly motivated self‑started with commitment to attention to detail Ability to multi‑task, work independently, and within a team environment Strong organizational, analytical, and recording skills Strong attention to detail Physical Requirements Sitting at a desk for 6-8 hours a day Working on a computer for 6-8 hours a day What We Offer 100% Employer paid benefits (individual & dependents) - medical, dental, vision Vacation, sick and holiday time Training and development opportunities Salary Range $28.00 per hour - $33.00 per hour + bonus Please note, the pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, department budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
