Job Classification Title Rehabilitation Counselor Supervisor (NS) Position Number 60054543 Grade NC13 Recruitment Range $50,088 - $72,000 Description of Work The Counselor in Charge is located in the Wilmington Unit (New Hanover County) and is responsible for providing vocational rehabilitation services to eligible individuals with disabilities, supporting them in achieving and maintaining competitive employment. The incumbent exercises independent judgment in casework decisions, except where approval by the Unit Manager or designated authority is required. The position provides guidance and instruction to assigned counselors, reviews and approves casework for designated Rehabilitation Counselor I staff, and monitors caseloads for outcome goals, budgets, and overall program management. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized plans of rehabilitation services for eligible consumers. Orchestrate and oversee the provision of planned services. Provide guidance, counseling, and job placement assistance directly to consumers. Develop and maintain networks of service providers, employers, and community resources. Engage in administrative duties including case service documentation, caseload management, program and fiscal planning, and staff meetings. Participate in training and professional development activities. Provide casework supervision for non‑independent counselors. Consult and approve successful outcomes for all counselors, ensuring services are provided to eligible consumers. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Preferred) Knowledge of casework methodology and techniques of rehabilitation counseling. Knowledge of communicating casework policies and procedures to staff. Knowledge of building relationships with consumers, family members, and professional and specialty services involved in the rehabilitation process. Minimum Education and Experience Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling or counseling from an accredited institution and two years of experience as a rehabilitation counselor; or current certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRCC) and two years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Position Funding and Working Arrangements Position is funded in part through federal funds. Position is eligible for a hybrid‑teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours.
