Travel Surgical Technologist

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist for a hospital surgical services unit, open to candidates with a technical diploma or associate's degree and BLS certification.

• Hospital surgical services department,
• Evening shift schedule with 4x10-hour shifts, 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM,
• 40 hours per week over 4 days,

Job Requirements

• Technical diploma from a Surgical Technology Program or Associate's Degree required,
• BLS certification required,
• No prior experience required,
• License required if applicable,

Additional Information

• Functions as part of the surgical team under RN direction, performing scrub functions supporting the perioperative plan of care,
• Demonstrates knowledge of operative procedures including draping, instrumentation, suture, and equipment,
• Maintains aseptic technique including gowning, gloving, sterilization, and disinfection practices,
• Anticipates surgeon needs and ensures OR readiness prior to scheduled cases,
• Accurately counts and accounts for all surgical items before, during, and after procedures,
• Properly disposes of sharps and assists with cleaning and storage of surgical equipment,
• Participates in unit activities including staff meetings, orientation of new staff, and preference card updates,
• Demonstrates versatility across a variety of OR specialties,
• Completes required safety training and demonstrates knowledge of National Patient Safety Goals and AORN Guidelines,
• Provides positive customer service interactions with patients and staff,
• First-time travelers may be considered
