Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of adult critical care and emergency department experience for a night shift position at a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital.

Job Details

• Respiratory therapy unit within an acute care hospital,
• Adult critical care and emergency department patient population,
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (1800-0630),
• Every other weekend required,
• On-call required as needed for the department,
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities,
• Cerner EMR used for charting,

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois license required at time of application if applicable,
• BLS and RRT certification required,
• Minimum 1 year of experience required,
• Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department work setting experience required,
• Airway management skills required: endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement/suctioning, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy care/suctioning,
• Nebulizer skills required: hand held, T-piece, trach collar,
• Oxygen therapy skills required: bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, T-piece, trach collar, Venturi masks,
• Ventilator management skills required: BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation,
• Cerner charting experience required,
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Level I/II trauma experience preferred,
• AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI cards not accepted,

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care and airway management for critically ill adult patients in critical care and emergency settings,
• Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds,
• Scrubs may be any solid color,
• First-time travelers are accepted,
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction,
• Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler,
• RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days,
• Candidates must work 2 of the 3 major holidays,
• Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility,
• Parking permit required, provided at no cost during orientation
