The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for coordinating with our field teams and office staff to source, purchase and deliver materials to our multiple active projects. Additionally, this position is responsible for overseeing the warehouse and scheduling the daily deliveries and debris collection. This position requires an excellent multi-tasker with exceptional organizational and document tracking skills for a fast-paced construction company serving San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area. FLUENT IN ENGLISH & SPANISH IS REQUIRED + EXCELLENT COMPUTER SKILLS

Responsibilities:

• Order materials online, process purchase orders, work orders, packing slips
• Track all expenses daily on spreadsheet and Buildertrend
• Schedule the drivers for pick-ups, deliveries and hauling debris
• Coordinate with Superintendents and team to schedule deliveries
• Attend weekly project meetings, provide weekly status of job orders/delays
• Make certain returns are processed timely to capture refunds and credits
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers
• Work closely with vendors to ensure to capture all discounts, rebates, getting the most competitive pricing
• Orders are placed and delivered to job sites timely
• Oversee warehouse inventory, stocking material, restocking excess material, resourcing inventory to maximize material cost savings

Qualifications:

• Experience working in purchasing (warehouse, inventory, personnel, construction)
• Working knowledge of the construction industry and familiarity with building material
• Excellent computer skills (mac computers, google, spreadsheets, reading take-off plans)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational and documentation skills
• Strong understanding of purchasing, negotiation techniques and conflict resolution
• Fluent in both English and Spanish speaking is required

Compensation:

• Pay Range $58K - $65K annually DOE ($27-$31/hr)
