Research Analyst

Stem Cell Research Center Grant Administrator Your Role On The Team Under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for the development and submission of single- and multi-investigator federal, state and private contracts and grants as well as other extramural funds proposals. This portfolio will include preparation and submission of complex infrastructure, equipment, and training grants that support multiple research and instructional programs within the Stem Cell Research Center (SCRC), as well as support for annual reporting and renewal proposal submissions. Incumbent will independently prepare draft and final budgets, budget justifications, and various proposal documents, perform data entry and document uploads into grant submission platforms including Kuali Research, Cayuse, ProposalCentral, CIRM GMS, and NIH ASSIST. This individual will organize and lead regular monthly and ad hoc proposal preparation working meetings with faculty members, provide project management support for multi-investigator proposals, and help propel themed research groups to proposal submissions. They will collect, collate, and archive a proposal/award library and boilerplate/template documents, and work with other units including GMP and Alpha Clinic teams to facilitate content incorporation into proposals for submission. Other duties may include support for pre- and post-award management for clinical trial proposals and awards, for department purchasing needs, expansion of the role to provide post-award (fiscal officer role) support, and other duties as assigned. What It Takes To Be Successful Required: Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines of Federal and non-Federal sponsors supporting research and educational activities, preferably in a university environment. Thorough knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use. Ability to manage significant volume of transactions. Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting. Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports. Ability to maintain independent judgment; strong organization; communication skills; and a customer service focus. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles. Strong writing skills in a variety of styles to draft persuasive text for a variety of audiences while ensuring adherence to funding sponsor's guidelines. Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training, 3-5 years of relevant experience.
