PEST CONTROL SPECIALIST I (CLASS CODE 5466)

Under general direction and oversight performs responsible work in assisting in activating, planning and supervising the field work concerned with mosquito, rodent, vector, and/or termite control programs; and related work as required. Qualifications Option 1: Permanent status as a Pest Control Inspector III or IV with the New Orleans Mosquito Control Board and three (3) years of experience in mosquito, rodent, vector, or termite control. Option 2: Applicants with an accredited college or university degree in a scientific curriculum may substitute experience: 30 semester hours equals one year of experience. Applicants must submit original diploma or official transcript within two weeks of application. Option 3: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific curriculum and one (1) year of experience in mosquito, rodent, vector, or termite control. Original diploma or transcript must be submitted within two weeks. Probationary period of one year required.
