Medical Laboratory Technician 2 Alexandria, VA, United States Job Identification: 684216 Posting Date: 06/25/2026, 12:59 PM Job Schedule: Full time Locations: Inova Alexandria Hospital (On‑site) Job Description Inova's Alexandria Hospital seeks a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician 2 for a full‑time day/evening shift (12 noon – 8:30 pm, Monday–Friday, every other weekend). Job Responsibilities Ensure quality specimens for laboratory testing by recognizing pre‑analytical factors that affect patient results. Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with team members to optimize performance and foster relationships. Demonstrate knowledge of operational and regulatory standards. Operate systems and methodologies to produce timely and accurate data for patients, quality control and proficiency testing. Participate in professional growth opportunities to enhance personal, team and departmental development by demonstrating operational knowledge and adhering to regulatory standards. Minimum Qualifications Education. Associate's degree in science from a regionally accredited college or university. Other acceptable forms of education include ASCP Board certification or American Medical Technologists Board certification, or completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program, a 50‑week U.S. military medical laboratory training course, or three years of full‑time acceptable clinical experience. Experience. One year of experience or equivalent clinical training within the last 12 months. Certification. Certified Medical Lab Technician or Medical Laboratory Technician upon start.
