Overview Compensation: $52,000 Annually Under the general supervision of the Director of Residential Services, the House Manager is responsible for the operation of a residential home. The manager works with staff to provide care to individuals served, ensuring they have access to quality services efficiently and cost‑effectively. Additionally, the House Manager supervises direct care staff in their assigned residence. Responsibilities Supervise the day‑to‑day operation of the home in a manner that complies with regulations and agency standards. Provide supervision and training to people with intellectual disabilities to promote growth toward their highest potential. Supervise Lead Staff and Direct Support Professionals, ensuring accountability, and collaborate with the Division Manager on disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations. Conduct weekly checks of all service and medication books; report errors or omissions promptly to the Division Manager and complete audit forms as required. Maintain the highest level of professionalism, serving as a role model for staff and maintaining a positive approach at all times. Coordinate and participate in direct support staff training by orienting new staff, arranging training sessions, and supporting ongoing staff development. Ensure fiscal responsibility by supporting individuals with banking, managing household budgets, petty cash, food orders, and individual funds. Accurately submit incident and seizure reports, activity calendars, weight charts, fire drills, outgoing mail, supply requests, inventories, and other required documents within established timeframes. Promptly complete employee performance evaluations. Participate in the Individual Plans (IP) planning process. Plan and conduct quality leisure activities. Maintain the residential home and assigned vehicle(s) regarding cleanliness, organization, and safety, taking corrective action when necessary. Take necessary action in emergencies following agency policies and report incidents to appropriate personnel. Transport persons served to medical appointments, adjunct therapies, and other activities. Communicate with families and other external personnel. Communicate with the delegating nurse to coordinate medical services and ensure completion of medical services. Handle household shopping duties and monitor necessary supplies. Obtain and maintain updated emergency contact and regulatory information. Monitor medication supplies, administration, reordering processes, and documentation of administration and reporting of problems or errors promptly. Ensure completion of fire drills, routine water temperature checks, and safety committee reports; review, take corrective action, and submit monthly reports. Report vehicle problems, follow up on weekly vehicle reports, and arrange maintenance and repairs. Establish accountability practices for petty cash and individual funds, submit receipts timely on designated forms, and report irregularities. Initiate and follow up on maintenance requests using established procedures for emergency after‑hours maintenance. Maintain program files. Attend and conduct monthly house meetings. Use technology for specified job duties. Attend work regularly according to the assigned schedule and agency policy. Attend and participate in in‑service training, staff meetings, and other activities to facilitate professional development. Respond timely to internal and external customers to ensure service excellence. Work cooperatively with staff, supervisors, administrators, co‑workers, individuals served, community professionals, customers, vendors, and the public. Assume other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned. Requirements Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in a human services field is preferred. High school diploma or its equivalent is required. Experience: Minimum two years of experience working with persons who have a developmental disability in a group residence and experience in a management or supervisory position. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by agency policy. Ability to lift 50 pounds. NOTE: At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted in lieu of the specified requirements under Education and Experience.
