Event Designer
$50k - $58kLively Productions
Lively Productions is looking for a dynamic, creative, relationship-driven salesperson who wants to build something — not simply manage a list of existing clients.
We create immersive, highly designed events and environments for corporate celebrations, galas, weddings, mitzvahs, private parties, and some of Colorado's most memorable events. Our work combines event design, lighting, florals, drape, scenic elements, custom fabrication, and production to transform spaces completely.
We are looking for someone who loves people as much as they love great design. Someone who can walk into a venue and see possibilities, build genuine relationships with clients and industry partners, confidently present ideas, and turn those relationships into business.
This person will develop and manage their own book of clients while also owning smaller incoming events that deserve the same creativity and attention as our largest productions. You'll have the resources, inventory, production team, and creative foundation of Lively Productions behind you, while having the opportunity to build relationships and business that become your own within the company.
This is not simply an event planning position. We are looking for someone with a natural sales instinct, someone who follows up, networks, looks for opportunities, asks for the business, and genuinely enjoys watching a client relationship grow.
You should have a strong design eye, but you don't need to walk in knowing exactly how we do everything. You'll spend your first several months working closely with our Creative Director, learning the Lively aesthetic, our inventory, our design and sales process, and how an idea moves from the first client conversation through installation.
We're looking for someone who can seize opportunities, design and sell them, manage and execute them beautifully, and turn one great event into a lasting client relationship.
What Success Looks Like
- You genuinely enjoy selling and building relationships.
- You actively look for new business rather than waiting for leads.
- You are polished, personable, and confident with clients.
- You have a strong creative and visual eye.
- You follow up and follow through.
- You are organized and comfortable managing multiple clients.
- You take ownership of your events from beginning to end.
- You collaborate well and welcome creative direction.
- You are motivated by both creative success and sales growth.
- You want to build a long-term book of business.
What You'll Do
- Generate new leads and develop new client relationships.
- Build relationships with venues, planners, and industry partners.
- Respond to and manage qualified incoming event leads.
- Meet with clients and conduct venue walkthroughs.
- Develop creative event concepts and design direction.
- Prepare and present proposals.
- Sell Lively's existing inventory and creative capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to reimagine and resell successful design elements.
- Manage your events from initial inquiry through execution.
- Maintain strong communication and relationships with your clients.
- Collaborate with our creative and production teams.
- Attend networking and industry events.
- Help identify social media content and opportunities that generate business.
- Follow up with past clients and actively pursue repeat and referral business.
What We're Looking For
- Proven sales, business development, or client relationship experience.
- Genuine interest in events, design, and hospitality.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Confident, professional, and comfortable meeting new people.
- Creative thinker with strong visual instincts.
- Self-motivated and entrepreneurial.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a creative team.
- Willing to learn, receive feedback, and grow.
- Event, hospitality, luxury retail, venue, catering sales, experiential, or related experience is a plus.
Your First Few Months
You'll start by working closely with our Creative Director during one of our busiest seasons of the year. You'll participate in client meetings, design development, proposals, venue walkthroughs, and event installations while learning how Lively Productions works from the inside out.
You'll see not only how we design an event, but how we sell it, price it, produce it, troubleshoot it, and ultimately deliver an experience that keeps clients coming back.
As your knowledge and confidence grow, you'll begin taking ownership of smaller events and client relationships with support from our team. Our goal is to give you the foundation to enter the new year ready to actively develop, sell, and manage your own growing book of business.
Qualifications | What You Need to Bring
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Why Lively?
Every event is different.
One day you may be designing an intimate birthday dinner. The next, you could be walking a ballroom, developing a wedding, meeting a new venue partner, or watching something you helped dream up being built around you.
We work hard, think big, and care deeply about what we create.
If you love people, love beautiful things, get excited about making the sale, and want the freedom to build something of your own while being part of a creative team, we'd love to meet you.
