Med Surg RN Nights

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical department is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care to patients primarily in a surgical setting with some medical overlap. This role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs. The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment caring for patients in private rooms, ensuring quality and safety throughout the shift. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Illinois.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in hospital, home health, or hospice care.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in a surgical or medical-surgical nursing unit.
• Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in a hospital setting.
• Driver's license, car insurance, and automobile for field work if applicable.

Special Considerations:

• Night shift work with a nurse to patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6.
• Agency coverage scheduled for every other weekend.
• Manager is open to discussing holiday requests.

Scheduling:

• Night shifts primarily on a surgical medical-surgical unit.
• Schedule includes every other weekend coverage with agency support.
• Shift supervisor available during night shifts to support nursing staff.
